Clinical Therapy, Kogarah
Clinical Therapy - our difference
Every psychology practice claims to be different – and that’s probably true because there are many approaches to psychological therapy. What’s most important is not that we’re different (although we know we are) but that we’re the right fit for you.
Is Clinical Therapy, Kogarah the right fit for you?
You might not know what you need in a psychologist yet. Or you might have a clear idea. Either way, here are some details to help you get to know us better.
We’re a small but growing team of likeminded psychologists. That means we listen to you without judgement and commit to building a strong connection with you. In fact, client collaboration and education are at the heart of everything we do, to ensure you can understand the steps we’re taking together.
We only use evidence-based therapies (because we have a deep respect for scientific research). And, whether you visit us once, once in a while or once a week, we collaborate with you to find a treatment plan that suits you best.
Escape the chaos and visit our little oasis of calm
Your therapy experience with us begins when you arrive at our Kogarah clinic. We’ve created a calm, soothing space where you can feel relaxed and comfortable away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
After a short ride in the lift (we’re on Level 5), turn left and follow the corridor around until you see the sign for Clinical Therapy. Our comfortable waiting room is unattended, so you can soak up some peace and quiet before your session starts.
When it’s time for your appointment, your psychologist will welcome you into one of our three consulting rooms. Our cosy rooms are decorated in soothing colours and have been specially soundproofed for extra privacy. Once you’re comfortable, your session will start.
At the end of your appointment, your payment and rebate are automatically processed so there’s no awkward chit-chat with a receptionist while you’re still gathering your thoughts. You can leave as soon as your session ends.
If you can't come to the clinic, we can offer you a Telehealth appointment - just mention this when you make your online booking.
Our story begins with Elizabeth...
Not long after Elizabeth Talbot completed her Master’s in Clinical Psychology, she started a family. Like many professional women, she wanted to enjoy some time with her new baby, but she also wanted to keep her career on track.
Elizabeth had a vivid vision of the type of psychology practice she wanted to work in, but family-friendly hours were a priority. So, as a new mum with a practical approach to life, it seemed reasonable to create that practice herself.
After years dedicated to growing my skills and experience, I wanted to build a practice where the client support was collaborative. And, where the clients were always prioritised and valued when it came to their treatment. I created Clinical Therapy as a solo practice using evidence-based therapies
Expanding the practice to serve more people
As demand grew for her psychology services, Elizabeth wanted to make her approach to therapy available to more people. She knew it was time to grow, so she opened her 3-room consulting practice in Kogarah and began building a team of likeminded psychologists.
We're building an ethical practice with a team that offers non-judgemental, personalised care. It’s a welcoming, relaxed and comfortable environment where vulnerable clients can participate in their treatment decisions and trust their therapy is evidence-based.’
Today, with a team of three, Clinical Therapy offers the intimacy and comfort of a small personal practice with a diverse range of psychological experience.
